This is a series of Portraits I painted for an exhibition called 'Whakapapa' for an old friend Brent Harper. The portraits symbolically represent my parents and their lineage and 'Whakapapa' I drew my parents as 'Taniwha', mythical Maori sea monsters that shaped the land in ancient times.
